Wessel-Pistor Excellence Award Ceremony

If you know a staff person who demonstrates a caring, respectful attitude towards residents, families, and fellow staff, please nominate them for this prestigious award.

Residents, Family Members, and Staff may nominate a staff member hired on or before January 1, 2013.
Please make sure to vote for an employee who goes above and beyond to care for those who live, work, and visit Oak Hill.

Applications are available at the receptionist desk starting October 21, 2013. Return your nomination by November 18th.
Ceremony to announce and celebrate award winner will be held on November 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Oak Hill Activity Center.

This award and cash prize is in honor of two previous residents from Monroe County Nursing Home, Elizabeth Wessel and Johanna Pistor.

Alzheimer’s Association “In the Moment” Support Group

The Alzheimer’s Association “In the Moment” Monthly Support Group meets in the Oak Hill classroom. The first part of the meeting is educational and there will also be time for sharing. Anyone who cares for someone with memory loss or is a family member or friend is welcome to attend this group. Hat Day at Oak Hill

Oak Hill is celebrating National Hat Day. Who doesn’t feel more stylish when wearing a hat? From baseball caps, cowboy hats, bonnets, fancy Sunday “goin’ to church” hats, fedoras, bowlers, golf hats, straw hats, stocking hats and more, we hope to see them all.

Magnolia Terrace resident, Ed Nobbe, has a granddaughter on tour with the Planters Nut Mobile and it’s coming to Oak Hill on Friday, January 16th from 10-11am. The public is welcome to stop by for pictures and free samples.

Enjoy an evening of cards and complimentary snacks and drinks at Oak Hill’s Magnolia Terrace. Cost to play is $5.00 for 6 rounds. That money is used towards the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place cash prizes. This exciting event is open to the public and we’d love to have you come support the American Heart Association during this annual event. If you are unable to attend but would like to help, donations will be taken for baked goods for the event. Donations may be dropped off at the front desk on the day of the event.
